This past March, I had the privilege of photographing wonderful families with their babies and toddlers. Each session revealed unique moments of joy, curiosity, and connection that only young children can inspire. In this post, I want to share some of the photos from these sessions, along with tips for parents who want to capture their own family memories.
Tips for Parents Preparing for Family Photos
If you are planning a family photo session with babies or toddlers, here are some practical tips to make the experience enjoyable and successful:
Choose comfortable clothing: Soft fabrics and simple patterns work best. Avoid clothes that restrict movement.
Bring familiar items: Favourite toys, blankets, or books can soothe children and add personal touches.
Plan around naps and meals: Scheduling sessions when children are well-rested and fed helps avoid fussiness.
Be patient and flexible: Children’s moods can change quickly. Allow time for breaks and follow their lead.
Focus on connection: Encourage hugs, kisses, and playful interactions to capture genuine emotions.
